Spring Cleaning for Old Patterns

It’s spring cleaning time! Not just for our closets though …
It’s a great time to identify old patterns, reframe, and begin implementing new habits which support us.

Patterns are easy to revert to, but if we can be aware they’re happening, accountability can help us take our power back. We may not always be at fault for situations that spurred these cycles, but we can take responsibility for choosing what to do from this point forward!

So let’s rewire …

Reframing is a psychological technique that consists of identifying and then changing the way experiences, ideas, or emotions are viewed – it’s a process in which thoughts can be challenged and changed.

Sometimes we think our outlook is the only way to look at a problem …

But try questioning your thoughts:
“Is there another way to look at this?”
“What are some other possible reasons this could have happened?”
“What good can come of this?”

Another great technique for changing negative thought patterns is when you start to think negative thoughts, use the word “but” to interrupt it…
“I’m no good at communicating, but, if I work at it I might get better.”

Now, it’s time for some new habits to support your growth and new direction. Start small and consistent – and do it for yourself! Don’t worry about things that “should” be habits or that are motivated by guilt … find what makes you feel happy, healthy, and inspired, and move in that direction.

Keep blooming!
